Biologics, Inc. uses proprietary breakthrough biotechnologies to manufacture and
sterilize (1) bioimplants for use in soft tissue reinforcement specifically for orthopedics,
sports medicine, neurosurgical and spine applications. Our technology additionally
has potential applications for the safe and effective sterilization (1) of allografts.
We are committed to provide solutions to many of the problems and issues facing
surgeons with biological implants available today. Pegasus Biologics' bioimplants
will provide surgeons with more choices and alternatives in a growing three billion
dollar worldwide potential market.
The
Pegasus Advantage
Pegasus Biologics, Inc. located in Irvine, California
was founded in 2003. At the core of our business are unique and patented technologies
for the stabilization "crosslinking", and sterilization (1) of
all biological tissues without the use of any harsh chemicals (e.g. glutaraldehyde)
or radiation which can adversely affect tissue. Animal studies have shown
that our proprietary technologies have the potential to produce sterile (1), biocompatible, acellular implants that are suited for reinforcement
of soft tissue defects where weakness exists for orthopedic, sports medicine and
neurosurgical applications.
Pegasus
Biologics' sterilization (1) technology has the potential to render soft tissue
sterile (1) without the use of harmful radiation or chemicals that create a slimy
and/ or foul-smelling end product, or cause tissue deterioration due to side effects.
We
have the ability to "control" the level of tissue crosslinking in
our stabilization process resulting in a bioimplant that may be adaptable for
the remodeling requirements of a particular indication. This could potentially
overcome a significant problem surgeons face today, which is the uncontrolled
degradation rate of biologic implants often breaking down before sufficient remodeling
has occurred. This can lead to unwanted scar tissue and/or a weak repair.
